At Scrap Marketplace, we believe that technology and industry expertise need to work together to achieve the best results for Surplus Inventory and Scrap transactions across the globe. Most of the time, quoted price is only one of the many decision variables that Buyers and Sellers should consider. We have designed our technology and processes to facilitate scrap transactions globally on the basis of multiple variables including price, cycle time, buyer and seller ratings.

Scrap Marketplace is not a pure auction site. We leverage our growing global network of Buyers and Sellers to bring reliable Surplus Inventory and Scrap listings and actively market them among suitable Buyers globally. We also assign an account manager for each listing to support and assist Buyers and Sellers at every stage from Listing Initiation to Final Delivery and Payments.

SECURE PAYMENTS

Scrap Marketplace has built-in controls to ensure that both Buyers and Sellers fulfill all of their obligations to each other. Buyers have to make full or partial payments subject to agreed terms, quality and quantity of Surplus Inventory and Scrap lots as described. Payments are held securely in designated escrow accounts until Sellers make the material available for pick up and fulfil other obligations laid out for respective transactions. Payments are transferred from Escrow to Sellers and respective Surplus Inventory and Scrap lots are shipped and inspected per agreed terms. As each transaction is different, our team of experts also have provisions and experience to create lot specific terms and conditions in collaboration with involved parties.

OUR SERVICE MODEL

Assisted Sale
Traditional Online Auctions and Online Classifieds and long-term contracts are most commonly used to conduct sales of commercial scrap. Due to complexity of scrap trade and potential risks of working with unknown traders in different countries – we focus on an ‘assisted sale’ service which is constantly monitored by our assigned account managers. Our team does all the ground work including pre-screening of users, weeding out unqualified bids, shortlisting bids, giving our professional recommendations as well as full support thru payment and physical dispatch.

Buy Now Option
Certain types of Surplus Inventory and Scrap lots might be good fits for the “Buy Now” option. Buy now option works best for Surplus Inventory and Scrap lots with fairly standard product and stable prices. If Seller can determine a start price and reserve price which is consistent with current market price levels – Buy now option can be a very effective pay to conclude transactions quickly.
Our team of experts provide full support for each transaction regardless of the listing option chosen by our customers.

OUR FEE STRUCTURE

We offer a simple, success-based fee model which is based on the value of each sale. In most cases, our fees are paid by the Seller and no fees are charged from the buyer. There are some non-refundable fees for special services which can be charged to either party.
